TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS?
Many people ask about moving out of the city and the country. Should you? The first course of action to answer this question is prayer. Only God knows. The safest place to be is in the center of His will! If you feel the need to move to a new location here are some things to consider. Remember to think inside the walls. WATER Is there access to good drinking water? ACCESS Is there good road access in times of snow or heavy rain? LOCATION May not be the right time for the "Good deal" next to the nuclear plant! LIGHT Southern exposure gives free heat and a place to grow a garden. SECURITY Can you protect what is yours? How high are state and local taxes? Home schooling laws? Gun laws? Subdivision covenants and restrictions? Can property be multi- family? Wildlife? Demographics are important. Not everyone will buy their dream house in the country. Some may just need a place to go if needed. If this is you, consider the following. Have you asked permission to join the community? Are you willing to send supplies ahead in case you need to stay for an extended time? Are you willing to help with the work now, and then? Are you willing to loose yourself to be a servant to all? No matter where you feel God is calling you to, keep your tent pegs shallow. Consider the Hebrews as they walked from place to place in the wilderness. When the cloud moved, they had to move. If a family had driven their tent pegs too far down in the ground the cloud could be miles away before they could begin to move again. Expect God to do the unexpected. It is just the way He works! Think about Abraham who walked through this earth and never truly felt at home for he looked for a city, the New Jerusalem. He looked for the day of the restoration of ALL things, so are we!
